The title picture for this blog was taken this morning as I set out for my morning walk. I loved watching the cloud’s hues shift from deep reds at the darkest of the dawn, to golden-red, to gold, and finally to grey hues as the sun backlit the clouds. I wore short sleeves and my arms tingled in the chill of the early morning.

After yesterday’s morbid post, I needed to reflect on the joy of life. I find myself sorrowed at the thought of so many people being deprived of being able to simply enjoy life. Therefore, I task myself today to take every opportunity to seek out and enjoy the gift of life. From the beauty of a sunrise, to the hot, bitter liquid of coffee (black of course) on my tongue every sense tells a story of life. Outside the open window of my office I hear the drone of traffic in the distance overlaid with the coos of doves, peeps of cardinals, and varied tones of the mockingbird in the live oak trees around my house. Life is meant to be lived, experienced, and enjoyed!

I leave you with this thought – may your day be blessed with the opportunity to observe and enjoy the gift of life.
